It all began with a knock at the door
An 11-year-old girl named Sumi stood before Francis and Naomi, eyes filled with quiet determination.
My father left us long ago. My mother and I live in a small room in the slum. She works as a day laborer, but it’s not enough. She wants me to stop school. Can you help me continue my education? 
That evening, moved by her courage, a small offering collected at their prayer cell became the seed for something greater
—the DIP: Back-to-School Program.
WHY EDUCATION?

OUR RESPONSE: THE DIP PROGRAM
The DIP Program (meaning “light” in Bengali) is at the heart of our child and youth development strategy. It combines joyful, engaging learning with practical life skills, right within their communities. Through DIP we offer:
- Educational Support: School supplies, tuition, adolescent hygiene items
- Academic Coaching: Free tutorial support for deserving students
- Family Empowerment: Nutrition, hygiene awareness, and livelihood programs
For many of these children—living in slums, abandoned by fathers, and burdened by family struggles—education is their only pathway to hope.
